Garmin Oregon GPS Navigation Device 550/550t are the first Garmin outdoor navigators to feature built-in cameras. Oregon 550 and Oregon 550t also include the addition of a 3-axis tilt-compensated compass for accurate headings while held in un-level positions.
The Garmin Oregon 550 series has a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera with 4x digital zoom that automatically geotags each photo with the location where it was taken allowing you to navigate to these spots in the future. Oregon 550 and 550t connect to a computer via USB and allows you to connect your photos to Picasa.
The Garmin Oregon 550 has a built-in DEM (digital elevation model) basemap that supports terrain shading and route elevation profiles to help estimate terrain difficulty. The Oregon 550t comes preloaded with detailed topographic maps and land elevation contours throughout the U.S. including major trails, urban and rural roads, interstates, highways, coastlines, rivers and lakes as well as national, state and local parks, forests and wilderness.
Both the Garmin Oregon 550 and 550t provide a sunlight-readable, touchscreen display and all the features for a perfect multipurpose tool for outdoor excursions.
